Scarf
I finished the scarf I’ve been working on for one and a half years last weekend. It’s a CMYK scarf, the four colors used by graphic designers in printing.
It has some flaws, but it looks pretty good.

Week late recap
So I’m a little late, but Emily finally put up pictures so I can show you the cake we made last weekend. It was almost a cake wreck, but we managed to save it, and it turned out quite delicious.
We made a Vanilla Cake with Tiramisu Buttercream and Ganache Filling from our favorite recipe site, Love and Olive Oil. We didn’t use fondant because we didn’t think we could handle it (and it’s good that we didn’t), but maybe next time. Here it is!
Butter

Ganache
We made Ganache (surprisingly easy). Amazingly delicious!
Cake!
And the finished cake! It had some issues (it was a little warm) when we tried to put ganache and frosting on, so it got all melty, quite a mess. It started to slide off and got a little crooked. Oh well, it still tasted great!

What a weekend!
What a fantastic weekend.
Friday I went to our first outdoor frisbee pickup game on the astroturf field at point lookout. It was very fun, and afterwards I had a nice dinner and I got to hear all about Rob and Sierra’s vacation.
Saturday I hung out at their house, I spent a lot of time playing with Emma which was awesome. She’s talking so much now it’s incredible. She even sings along to songs and is making complete sentences. Our joint birthday dinner Saturday night was fantastic, and we had a very delicious cake.
On Sunday I got up early (8AM!) to head to Emily’s, whose family graciously invited me over for Easter. It was fun, the weather was simply amazing (almost 80 in the sun), and I got to eat lots of candy (I still prefer Passover though).
The weather has been great and only looks like it’s gonna be getting better. I can’t wait for summer!

Quiet weekend in Bar Harbor. I was super tired on Friday and didn’t want to drive home, so I ended up sleeping in and doing nothing. It was nice.

Weekend on Vinalhaven
Emily, Zofia and I went out to Vinalhaven this weekend and stayed at Zofia’s grandfather’s house.
We had a picnic, watched a movie, and talked. Zofia has a lot of family out on the island (all with incredible houses), and they were all very accommodating. Anyways, it was awesome.
Our picnic included delicious goat cheese, carrot, and olive tapenade sandwiches, potato salad, ginger beer, and beet and sweet potato chips. Mmmm.

Two weeks of updates!
OK, so, finally getting around to updating blog. As you may know I made food with Emily last week. We made popovers, artichoke heart, garlic, and goat cheese pizza, and key lime pie (which it seems we forgot to take pictures of). They were all really delicious and as usual we had fun.

This last weekend we made more. For some reason all we could settle on making was dessert, so we made three of them. Originally we had picked out two, but it was π day (3/14) so we decided a pie was in order as well. We made an apple-berry pie, Dr. Pepper Cake, and Pomegranate-Lime Rice Pudding (which we also forgot to take pictures of). We also nursed a sick child back to health with our beautiful food presentation skills.
